Larry Carl Walcott

Larry Carl Walcott, 69, of  Vevay, IN, passed away at 6:09 PM, Wednesday, September 22nd, at  Cincinnati VA Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. Larry was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on December 12, 1951, a son of the late Helen Rose (Griffin) and Lawrence Walcott. Larry attended school in Switzerland County, IN. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army. On February 12, 1971, he was married to Diana Schroeder. They were married for over 50 years until his passing. He was employed as a construction worker for DuPont. Larry was a member of the Vevay American Legion and V.F.W. He enjoyed collecting antiques, painting, whittling and constructing wooden trinkets and was known for the way he cared for other people, by gifting his artistic creations to friends and family and by often providing shelter and food for those in need. He will be dearly missed.

Larry is survived by his wife Diana Walcott of Vevay, IN; daughters Veronica (Timothy) Young of Myakka City, FL, Sherri (Brian) Yonker of Myakka City, FL, Rebecca Walcott of Trion, GA, Tabatha (Sambo) Waller of Dayton, TN, Michelle Rye of Vevay, IN and Katie Rye of Vevay, IN; brother Ronald (Patricia) Walcott of Gatlinburg, TN; sisters Eliza (Wayne) Dooley of Gloverville, SC and Idabelle "Tiny" (Bo) Neeley of Akin, SC; grandchildren Dalton, Dylan, Danyl, Brandon, Shelby, Joshua, Steven, Rebecca, Alex, Memory, Christina, Megan, Samantha, Elisha, Isabella, and Abigail; and great grandchildren Elizabeth, Eli, Nicholas, and Octavia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Charles Anthony Walcott, brother-in-law Lewis Schroeder, and sister Lula Schroeder.

A public graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 28th, at 1:30 PM at the Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, checks made payable to Diana Walcott.
