Linda Marie (Gillispie) Penvose

Linda Marie (Gillispie) Penvose, 60, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 21st, 2024 at home. Linda was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on April 15, 1964, a daughter of Lois (Beutel) Gillispie, of Rising Sun, IN and Carl Gillispie, of Aurora, IN. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1982. Linda was later employed by the Rising Sun Ohio County Schools where she worked as a custodian for several years. Linda was married to Gregory Penvose and 4 daughters were born to this union; Stefanie Marie, Ann Marie, Amy Nicole and Stephanie Nicole. Linda enjoyed doing anything outdoors and listening to music. She loved being a mom and grandma and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Linda is  survived by a daughter, Stephanie Nicole Penvose, of Cincinnati, OH; by her mother, Lois Gillispie, of Rising Sun, IN; by her father, Carl Gillispie, of Aurora, IN; by her grandchildren, Chasity Nicole Smith, Jaxon Anthony Penvose and Jaelyn Ann Marie Johnson. Linda is also survived by her sister, Robin Withered and husband Jeff "Poe" , of Moores Hill, IN; by her brother, Rodney Gillispie and wife Lisa, of Rising Sun, IN and by several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Stefanie Marie Penvose, in 1983, Amy Nicole Penvose in 1987 & Ann Marie (Penvose) Smith  in 2004.
 
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 28th, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 28th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hedge Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN. Memorial donations may be made towards funeral expense.
