Lonnie John Goldrainer, 78, of Vevay, IN, passed away Tuesday, November 11th, 2025 at his home. Lonnie was born in Cincinnati, OH on December 7, 1946, a son of the late Rosemary Margaret (Weidner) Goldrainer and John Edward Goldrainer. He grew up in the Cincinnati community and attended Oak Hills High School. Lonnie was the widower of Josetta (Dirr) Goldrainer. Lonnie and Josetta were married on February 14th, 1985. Lonnie was employed at the Nash Finch food distribution company for over 35 years. He was a long time member of the Izaak Walton League in Loveland, OH. Lonnie was an excellent woodworker and enjoyed spending his time restoring furniture. He was also a talented artist and had a keen appreciation for vintage cars. Lonnie enjoyed the outdoors and took pride in raising a large garden and planting flower beds. Lonnie was kind and considerate and always showed compassion for others. He was truly a gentle soul.
Lonnie is survived by three daughters, Tammy Goldrainer, of Loveland, OH; Mary Stogsdill (Eric), of Vevay, IN and Tina Vesneski (Tom), of Harrison, OH; by two step daughters, Tonia Flenner (Matt), of Columbus, OH and Samantha Wilson, of Vevay, IN; by his grandchildren, Heather Hayden, Christian Stogsdill (Shelby), Josie Stogsdill and Jack Stogsdill and by his great grandchildren, James, Jarad, Porter, Ada and Granger. Lonnie is also survived by two sisters, Teri Koch (Mike), of Taylor Mill, KY and Barb Bain (Bill), of Lawrenceburg, IN and by a brother, Chris Goldrainer (Susan), of Lawrenceburg, IN. Lonnie was preceded by his parents, by his wife, Josetta and by a brother, Steve Goldrainer.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
