Lorraine McNeely Obituary

Lorraine McNeely, 90, of Patriot, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, IN. Lorraine was born in Hamilton, OH on November 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Addie (Ash) Isaacs and Chester F. Isaacs. Lorraine married Walter H. Brinegar on Dec. 4, 1950 and to this union three children were born: Barry Lynn Brinegar, Bonnie Kay Brinegar and Beverly Sue Brinegar. Walter passed on Sept. 6, 1957. Lorraine married Douglas Gene McNeely on October 5, 1962 and to this union two more children were born: Linda McNeely and Douglas McNeely. They were married 46 years until Doug's passing on October 27th, 2008. Lorraine formerly worked at the Plastic Moldings Plant in East Enterprise but being a homemaker and helping her husband on the farm was her main priority. Lorraine loved the farm life and tending to the animals, especially the donkeys her and Doug raised. She also enjoyed sewing and cake decorating. Lorraine was also a former member of the Rising Sun Eastern Star. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Lorraine is  survived by three daughters, Bonnie Long (Dennis), of Madison, IN; Beverly Jones (Buster), of Rising Sun, IN and Linda McNeely, of Warsaw, KY; by a son, Douglas McNeely (Lisa), of Patriot, IN; by two step daughters, Karen Atha (Ronnie), of Dry Ridge, KY and  Joyce McNeely, of Burlington, KY; by a step son, Denny McNeely (Robin), of New Marion, IN; by 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Lorraine is also survived by three sisters, Charlotte Harvey, of Liberty, IN;  Wanda Gehm, of Middletown, OH and Geneva Isaacs, of New Hope, AR; by two brothers, Gerald Issacs, of Tipp City, OH and Randy Isaacs, of Calhan, CO. Lorraine was a Gold Star Mother, having lost her son Barry Lynn Brinegar during the Vietnam War. Lorraine was also preceded in death her parents, Chester and Addie Isaacs; by her husband, Douglas Gene McNeely; by her grandson, Daniel Jones; by her great grandchild, Aiden Blackthorn; by her brothers, Leon Isaacs and Ricky Isaacs and by her sisters, Imogene Foster and Rosetta Isaacs.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Thursday, November 30th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 30th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery in Patriot, IN.
