Michael Stewart Colen

Michael Stewart Colen, 60, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 12:20 AM Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at The Waters of Rising Sun, Rising Sun, IN. He was born on October 4, 1961 in Dearborn County, IN, a son of the late Clifford Colen and Wanda June (Baker). He attended school in Rising Sun, IN and was employed as a laborer for multiple businesses. He enjoyed fishing, hunting for arrowheads, painting, and drawing.

Michael is survived by daughter Kim Kelly (Cody) of Madison, IN; brothers Gordon Colen of Quercus Grove, IN and David Colen (Shawna) of Rising Sun, IN; sisters Marilyn Watkins (Pat) of East Enterprise, IN, Sherry Shamburger (Bill) of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Jamie Stegemiller (Jeff) of Rising Sun, IN; grandson Joel Kelly; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Brian “Buzz” Colen and sister Mary Jean “Cricket” Colen.

A public visitation will be held Monday, July 11th, from 4 – 6 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Monday, July 11th at 6 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Waters of Rising Sun.
