Obituary - Monte Killion Denbo
Monte was born on May 18, 1938 in Plainville, Indiana to Roger Denbo and Mildred (Killion) Denbo. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Janet Deal, Jeannine Gaither and brother, Roger Dwain Denbo. He is survived by his wife Darlene (Pantle) Denbo, son Daniel Denbo, daughters Renee (Denbo) Elder (Bear) and Debra Denbo and sisters Phyllis Young (Bill) and Linda Waverly and brother Phil Denbo (Paula). He was a devoted Grandfather to Grandson Seth Elder (Emily), Jena (Elder) Hallavant (Beau), and Teryn (Elder) Hixon (Robbie) and six Great Grandchildren, Elsie, Oscar, James, Charlie, Abel and Isaac.
Monte received a basketball scholarship for Pueblo Jr. College in Colorado which is where he met his wife Darlene and graduated from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. Monte and Darlene married on November 27, 1958 and started their home in Rising Sun, Indiana in 1968.
In Monte's life he was a Teacher, Coach, owner of a Hunting Preserve, Businessman, and Restaurant owner, He loved hunting, fishing, golf, watching I.U. Basketball and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Monte will be missed and was greatly loved by his family. Monte passed away on July 22, 2024 surrounded by family. No services are planned. The family has asked that you please respect their privacy at this time.
