Patricia Ann Huff

Patricia Ann "Patty" Huff, 62, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Patty was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on December 25, 1961, a daughter of the late Evelyn Laverne (Brown) Huff and Ralph Edward Huff. She grew up in Ohio County and was a 1980 graduate of Rising Sun High School. Patty continued her education at Northern Kentucky University and Xavier University, obtaining her Masters Degree. Patty was a former 4th grade teacher at the Switzerland County Elementary School in East Enterprise, IN. She later taught in the Alternative School Program for the Switzerland County School Corporation in Vevay, IN. Patty then began work at the Rising Sun-Ohio County Elementary School in 2002 where she served as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director until her retirement in 2021. Patty loved sports of all kinds. She was on the women's tennis team in college and played volleyball, softball and basketball in high school. Her passion for sports fit perfectly with her position as athletic director. Patty also enjoyed craft work and making stained glass projects. Patty touched the lives of so many students over the years with her enthusiasm for education and sports. Her dedication will always be remembered.

Patty is survived by her sister, Pam McDaniel (Jim), of Rising Sun, IN; by her brother, James Huff (Phoebe), of Hawesville, KY; by her nephews, Mark Huff, of Atlanta, GA, Blake Huff, of Owensboro, KY and Jason McDaniel (Kelley), of Lawrenceburg, IN; by her niece, Michele Gregory, of Aurora, IN and by her great nephews, Jimmer McDaniel and Reed Gregory.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Eldon Fancher officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
