Patricia "Pat" Marksberry

Patricia Ann Marksberry, 89, of Rising Sun, Indiana, passed away July 14, 2026 at The Waters of Rising Sun. Pat was born on July 7, 1937 in Warsaw, Kentucky, a daughter of Robert Arnold Jackson and Cora Eunice Webster. Pat was the wife of Roy Marksberry. Pat and Roy enjoyed several years together in marriage until her passing. Pat’s children were the center of her heart as she lovingly raised her family. In addition to homemaking, Pat spent over 20 years employed for the Ohio County Dispatch. She was a member of the Phi Beta Si Sorority and Rising Sun First Baptist Church. Pat enjoyed reading, sewing, and painting.  

Pat is survived by her husband Roy Marksberry of Rising Sun, Indiana; sons Troy Marksberry (Traci) of Rising Sun, Indiana and Michael Marksberry (Sarah) of Aurora, Indiana; daughters Teresa Sebree of Vevay, Indiana and Tina Menke of Brookville, Indiana; sister Charolette Synder; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Pat was preceded in death by her son William “Bill” Marksberry and grandson Gryffin Wilson.  

Services for Pat are to be held at the Markland Funeral Home on Friday July 17th , visitation 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with funeral at 1:00 PM and burial to follow at Rising Sun New Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Rising Sun Fire Dept or First Baptist Church.
