Paul Walton Obituary

Paul Stanley Walton was born on July 24, 1949 in Milan, Indiana.  He was named after his father, Ervin’s, best friend, Paul Stanley Walston.  His mother was Dorothy (Adams) Walton.  He went to Cass Union School for a short time, then to Rising Sun School, where he graduated in 1967.  On December 19, 1970 he married  Darlene Gourley at Western Hills Church of Christ in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Together they had three children.  Mark, born 1972, Robin, born 1974, and Jodi, born 1976.
Paul went to work for Monsanto for awhile, then worked at Powell Valve, and was caretaker for Riverview Cemetery for awhile.  He spent most of his working life, 35 years, as a machinist at Cincinnati Inc. in Harrison, Ohio. Paul attended Cincinnati Bible College for almost a year and served in the Airforce Reserves for six years where he was a sergeant.  Paul loved farming and actively farmed all his life until he moved to Florida in 2016.  Paul was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ until he moved with his family to Florida and was then an active member at Avon Park Christian Church.  In 2016 Paul and Darlene and Mark moved to Florida to enjoy retirement.  He loved it there and enjoyed his time fishing and gardening, and even became a Florida master gardener. In January, 2021 Paul was diagnosed with a rare brain disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, PSP.  He moved back to Indiana with his family in April, 2021 to be near family.  He left this World on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his Father, Ervin Walton, and Mother Dorothy (Adams) Walton.  He is survived by His wife Rita Darlene (Gourley) Walton, children Mark Walton, Robin (Bruce) Walton (boyfriend Chaz Cleary), Jodi (Keith) Walton (Brian), sister Penny Robinson (Walton) (Randy), and grandchildren Alex Bruce, Cody Bruce (Haylee Desmarais), and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paul was a good Christian man, husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed. Memorials can be made in his honor to:Loving Hearts Hospice, (Who took great care of Paul), Missions as Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ or The Whitewater Christian Service Camp, (where he met his beloved Darlene).
