Paula Jean (Greer) Smith

Paula Jean Smith, 59, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her home surrounded with love. Paula was born in Cincinnati, OH on October 7, 1961, a daughter of the late Lorene (Hacker) Greer and Gene  Greer. Paula was a graduate of Norwood High School, Class of 1979. She was the wife of James Smith. Paula & James were married on July 27, 2005. Paula worked as a Bartender at Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, IN for 19 years. She was a loving mother and amazing memaw. Paula loved spending time with her grandchildren and making up songs for the kids. Paula also enjoyed her TV time and watching movies. 

Paula is  survived by her caring husband, James Smith, of Rising Sun, IN; by her loving children, Sarah Montgomery, of Lawrenceburg, IN; Reanna Kingery, of Amelia, OH;  
Christina Kingery, of Batavia, OH and Bruce Lee Thomas Kingery (Gabriella), of San Diego, CA; by her beloved grandchildren: Sophie Zervos, Lincoln Weaver, Gabrielle Brightwell, Jalen Brightwell, Ares Kingery, Apollo Kingery, Kadence Griffen, Karen Smith and Kalesi Smith. Paula is also survived by two brothers, James Greer, of West Chester, OH and  Doug Greer (Paula), of Highland Heights, KY. 
 
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, June 25th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, June 24th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Loving Hearts Hospice. marklandfuneralhome.com
