Phyllis Ann (Elza) Baker

Phyllis Ann Baker, 60, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 4:12 AM, Tuesday, October 2nd, 2018 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, IN. Phyllis was born in Ohio County, IN on September 16, 1958, a daughter of the late Mary E. (Miller) and Hubert William Elza. She was raised in Ohio County and attended Rising Sun Schools. Phyllis worked as a clerk at Family Dollar and also for Mike & Ted's Video Store. She was a former member of the Rising Sun American Legion Auxiliary. Phyllis enjoyed watching TV, especially the Golden Girls and Mike and Molly. Baby-sitting and spending time with her grandchildren was her favorite thing to do.  

Phyllis is  survived by a daughter, Devin Elza, of Rising Sun, IN; by a son, Billy Elza, of Rising Sun, IN; by grandchildren, Kendra Elza, Isac Elza, Cori Ballard, Jesse Hockett, Lexy Elza and Dakota Turner; by two sisters, Deloris McMullen, of Versailles, IN and Carolyn Mattox, of Tulsa, OK; by a brother, Gary Dean Elza, of Versailles, IN; by sister-in law, Kathy Harris (Morris); by nieces and nephews; Sarah, Bob, Tommy, Mike, Jill, Joe, Mary Katherian, Glenn Miller, Richard, Sr., Richard, Jr., Kevin, Mary Ann, Tammy, Ronnie, Aimee, Wayne, Billy, Kevin, Donald, Deidra, and Tony and by a great friend, Pam Elza.  Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Kevin Dale "Bake" Baker and by brothers, Ricky, Bobby, Hubie, Ronnie and Dickie Elza and by a sister, Sandy Buffington.
 
Funeral services will be 7 PM, Friday, October 5th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday 5-7 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hedge Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
