Rev. Francis Dewey West, 82, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away peacefully April 7, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side. Francis was born in Oneida, TN on August 18, 1938, a son of the late Flora and Bernard West.
Francis was about 15 years old when he gave his life to the Lord and began preaching soon after. He was an active member of New Life Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, church family, and reading his Bible and was employed as a semi-truck driver. Francis spent the remainder of his years at his home being lovingly cared for by his daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.
Francis is survived by daughter Tracy (John) Bunch of Manchester, IN; brothers Harlen (Bonnie) West of Fort Wayne, IN and Gwyndol (Billie) West of Florence, KY; sisters Ann (Eugene) Durham of Mt. Orab, OH and Mary Bromagen of Lexington, KY; grandchildren Kevin Campbell of Elizabethtown, OH, Crystal Campbell of Elizabethtown, OH, Brookelyn Bunch of Cheviot, OH, and Gavin Bunch of Manchester, IN; great grandson Gunner, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, wives Joyce Ann and Viola, daughter Annette Weider, an infant brother Bonnell, and sisters Thelma Duncan and Gladys Royal.
A public visitation will be held Sunday, April 11th at the Markland Funeral Home from 5-8 PM. Funeral will be Monday, April 12th at the Markland Funeral Home at 1 PM with Pastor Dwayne Barrows officiating with interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Southern Baptist Church.
