On September 15, 2021, Ronald Lee Fox was called to come and enter his eternal rest. His death closed a very ambitious life of 86 years. He leaves behind his family and friends and the memories of a life devoted to his family, his friends, his faith, and faithfully serving God through full-time ministry. On November 16, 1934, Ronald was born to Lillian Metzler in Aurora, IN. At a young age, he was adopted by his step-father, Downey Fox. His mother, adoptive father, step-father, and infant son preceded him in death. Ronald grew up in the Aurora/Lawrenceburg, IN area. He graduated from Jr. High School at Central Elementary. Then, in 1954, he graduated from Lawrenceburg Consolidated High School. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ on the corner of Elm and Center Streets. He was baptized there by Ed Schantz. On September 4, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Doris Smith. They made their home in Lawrenceburg until 1956 when Ron decided to go to Bible College to study for the ministry. In 1960, Ron received his degree and accepted his first full-time ministry in Butler, IN. He loved preaching God’s Word. He also served churches in New Haven, IN, Winston-Salem, NC, Lawrenceburg, IN, Winter Haven, FL, Orlando, FL, West Palm Beach, FL, Medaryville, IN, Versailles, IN, and Pensacola, FL. Their home was blessed by the arrival of their two children: Cindy Sue and Timothy Wayne. A third child, a son, Ronald Lee Fox, Jr., was stillborn and is buried in Fort Wayne, IN. He was also blessed with five granddaughters: Kendra, Amanda, Amy, Melissa, and Kristen, as well as eleven great-grandchildren: Malia, Raegan, Jackson, Ethan, Mason, Parker, Ellie Jean, Aiden, Grayson, Sophia, and Breeya. In 2000, Ron retired from full-time ministry, and he and Doris moved back home to southern Indiana, making their home in Dillsboro. He was then part-time minister of Tanglewood Christian Church in Versailles, IN. In 2008, Ron & Doris moved to Pensacola, FL to be near family. He was actively involved in Gulf Coast Christian Church and also served for two years at Grace Christian Church, where he remained a faithful and active member until his death.
