Ricky Lee "Rick" Cochran, 68, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 at his home. Rick was born in Batesville, IN on March 28, 1957, a son of the late Mary Lou (Walston) Cochran and Jerry Lee Cochran. He was a 1975 graduate of Rising Sun High School. Rick married Dena (Casey) Cochran on September 7th, 1985 at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Rick and Dena celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Rick completed his electric certification and worked as a lineman for the City of Rising Sun for over 28 years. Rick was an avid fisherman and loved the river. He was a member of the Ohio Valley River Cats and sponsored the Jerry Lee Cochran Memorial Tournament every year in loving memory of his dad. He was also a long time member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 59 in Rising Sun. Rick enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, pitching horseshoes, shooting still boards and making trips to the local riverboats. Rick's family was his greatest joy. He loved his children and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Dena Cochran, of Rising Sun, IN; by his loving children, Lyle Cochran, of Aurora, IN and Ashley Turner (Shane), of Bennington, IN; by his cherished grandsons: Peyton, Lane and Cole; by his brother-in-law, Roger Jones, of Rising Sun, IN and by his niece, Holly Radcliff, of Rising Sun, IN. Rick was preceded by his parents, Jerry Lee & Mary Lou Cochran and by his sister, Roxanne Jones.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun, IN serving the family.
