Robert Lee "Bob" Ballou

Robert Lee "Bob" Ballou, 76, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 at Ridgewood Health Campus in Lawrenceburg, IN. Bob was born in Whitley City, KY on August 26, 1945, a son of the late Christine (Neal) Ballou and Glen  Ballou. Bob was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1964. He was the husband of Sharon  (Walton) Ballou. They were married on June 5, 1965 at the Rising United Methodist Church. Bob and Sharon were married over 56 years until his passing. Bob worked for General Motors over 38 years. His job took him to New York, Ohio and Michigan. He retired from his position as a Quality Control Engineer on April 2, 2002. Bob was a man of faith and a  member of the Aberdeen United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed the outdoors fishing and hunting. He loved watching all kinds of sports, especially basketball and football and was a fan of the IU Hoosiers and the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. Bob was a beloved husband, father, brother and a proud Pop of his granddaughter.

Bob is survived by loving wife, Sharon Ballou, of Rising Sun, IN; by his daughter, Darla Ballou Newlander (Jeff), of St. Johns, FL and by his granddaughter, Rhianna Newlander. Bob is also survived by five sisters: Carolyn Bledsoe, Geraldine Grecco, Patty Clanton, Glenda Faye Huegel (Tom) and Debbie Reeves (Danny); by brother-in-law, Gary Walton and by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
 
Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, December 6th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, December 7th at Markland Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Parrott officiating. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
