Robert Eugene White

Robert Eugene "Bobby" White, 66, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 at his residence. Bobby was born in Batesville, IN on December 9, 1957, a son of the late Frances "Fanny" (Poling) White and Gerald "Bush" White. He grew up in Ohio County and was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1977. Bobby married Yolanda  (Swanson) White on February 3, 1978 at the Rising Sun First Baptist Church. Bobby and Yolanda were married over 46 years until his passing. Bobby also studied building trades at vocational school. Bobby put his training to good use and took over the family business, White's Electric. He was well known for being able to fix just about anything. In addition to being self employed, he also worked for the City of Rising Sun for several years. Bobby was community minded and a dedicated member of the Rising Sun Fire Department for 46 years, where he served as Assistant Chief. He also attended the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Bobby loved to go fishing and enjoyed woodworking. He looked forward to winter and the chance to plow snow for many of the businesses in town. Bobby was always ready to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. He had a great sense of humor and appreciated a good joke. Being surrounded by his loving family is what brought him the greatest joy.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Yolanda White, of Rising Sun, IN; by his three daughters, Karrah Miller (John), of Rising Sun, IN; Kassie Adams (Brad), of Dillsboro, IN and Krystle Kaiser (Andrew), of Rising Sun, IN; by his grandchildren, Tyrrah, Tamryn, Isabelle, Wyatt, Austin, Luke and Audrey; by a sister, Diane Bowling (Brian), of Rising Sun, IN; by two brothers, Ed White (Donna), of Rising Sun, IN and Kenny White, of Rising Sun, IN; by his sisters-in-law, Yvonne Walton (Gary), of Rising Sun, IN and Yetta Keith (Rusty), of Rising Sun, IN; by his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Swanson, Jr. (Annette), of Batesville, IN; Reynold Swanson (Cheryl), of Mansfield, OH and Mark Swanson (Kim), of Rising Sun, IN. Bobby is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Frances White, by his father and mother-in-law, Kenny and Irene Swanson and by his sister-in-law, Patty White.
 
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Shane White officiating. Public Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22nd at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
