Rocky Allen Woodruff, 60, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. Rocky was born on September 20, 1965 in Lawrenceburg, IN, a son of the late Louis Thurman Woodruff and Florence Evelyn Radcliff-Woodruff. Rocky was raised locally with his five siblings and went on to enlist to serve his country. When care of his mother called him home, Rocky faithfully answered that call and tended to until her passing. Rocky attended Clark County College, obtaining his certificate in truck driving. Rocky was a truck driver for almost 10 years, also being employed at the shoe plant and in environmental waste management. On December 2, 1987, he was married to Darla Drounette. Rocky and Darla enjoyed over 38 years together in marriage and welcomed two children, Justin and Rockelle. In addition to delighting in his family, Rocky enjoyed many artistical talents, such as drawing and calligraphy, and music. Faith was also at the center of Rocky’s life.
Rocky is survived by beloved wife, Darla Woodruff, of Rising Sun, IN; son Justin Woodruff (Katrina) of Rising Sun, IN; daughter Rockelle Woodruff (John Grace) of Rising Sun, IN; brothers Gregory Woodruff of Rising Sun, IN, Michael Woodruff (Sherry) of Switzerland County, IN, Lance Woodruff of Switzerland County, IN, and Christopher Woodruff of Rising Sun, IN; sister Miranda Laughlin (Steve) of Rising Sun, IN; grandchildren Kaitlyn Grace, Sebastian Grace, Wyatt Woodruff, Evelyn Woodruff, and on the way, Elijah Woodruff; as well as several cousins and other relatives. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Florence Woodruff; sons Anthony Woodruff and Stephen Woodruff; sister-in-law Phyllis Woodruff; nephew Ronnie Ferry; and niece Andrea Woodruff.
Visitation will be held at the Markland Funeral Home on Friday, February 6th, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with funeral at 1:00 PM, and burial to follow at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist.
