Russell Lee Randall, 80, of Greendale, IN, passed away Sunday, April 18th, 2021 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, IN. Russell was born in Aurora, IN on September 11, 1940, a son of the late Dorothy Lee (Green) and Glenn Harold Randall. Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was later employed as a machinist for over 20 years at Hill-Rom. On May 5, 1962, he married Violet Elizabeth Walston. Russell and Violet were married for almost 59 years until his passing. Russell was a member of the Lawrenceburg American Legion Post #239 and the Aurora Eagles. Russell was an avid squirrel and rabbit hunter and also enjoyed fishing, painting, and drawing.
Russell is survived by his wife Violet Randall of Greendale, IN; son Russell "Rusty" L. Randall II of Greendale, IN; daughters Yvonne Terrell of Aurora, IN and Dawn Boyd of Cincinnati, OH; sisters Elizabeth (Wilford) Hussong of Aurora, IN, Rida Gregory of Lincoln Park, MI, Bonnie Laird of Lawrenceburg, IN, grandchildren Reid Terrell, Sarah Terrell, Shyenne Randall, Breanne Boyd, Megan Terrell, Ethan Randall, Jessy Boyd, Kelsey (Dominic) Witko, and Timothy Boyd; 6 great grandchildren, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leroy Randall, Dale Randall, Teddy Randall, and Nelson Randall; sisters Joyce Young, Kay Cartwright, Patsy Randall, Sandra Randall, Debbie Baker and infant sister Shirley Randall; and brother-in-law John Gregory.
A public visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 22nd at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday April 23 at 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home with Pastor Alex D'Amico and Mark Tanner officiating with burial to follow at Cedar Hedge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks or the Alzheimer's Association.
