Sheldon Lee Boatright Jr.

Sheldon Lee Boatright Jr., 71, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away Tuesday July 8, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. Sheldon was born in Cincinnati, OH on June 12, 1954, a son of the late Clara (Broyles) and Sheldon Lee Boatright Sr. Sheldon completed his schooling in Cincinnati and later returned to the Rising Sun area where he took up farming tobacco and hay. Sheldon also raised and trained horses for over 40 years. Sheldon was known for being an animal lover of all sorts, especially beloved dog, Wolf. On January 26th, 1985, he was married to Lisa (Watson). The couple enjoyed over 40 years together in marriage until his passing. Sheldon's kind and generous heart and intelligent mind will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Sheldon is survived by wife, Lisa Boatright of Rising Sun, IN; brother-in-law Doug Watson of Harrison, OH; sisters-in-law Jill Bolington of Harrison, OH and Jenny Story of Cleveland, OH; cousin Danny McCreary of Milan, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews, and close friends.

Sheldon was preceded in death by parents Sheldon Boatright Sr. and Clara Boatright; brother-in-law Chris Watson; and sister-in-law Julie Huegel.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 14th at 10:00 AM at the Rising Sun New Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN.
