Steven E. Brown

Steven E. Brown, 72, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital. Steve was born in Shelbyville, IN on December 1, 1949, a son of the late Ludwina (Eckstein) Brown and Charles E. Brown. He was a 1968 graduate of Southwestern High School in Shelbyville, IN. Steve proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a SP4 during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Steve married Kathy (Bondurant) Brown on July 24, 1992. Steve and Kathy were married 30 years until his passing. Steve worked in construction for many years and could operate any piece of equipment or perform any task asked of him. He was also a truck driver and was very proud of his blue dump truck. Steve loved being along the Ohio River. Steve is  survived by his wife, Kathy Brown, of Rising Sun, IN; by his daughter, Diedre Brown, of Shelbyville, IN; by his son, Stevie Brown, of Shelbyville, IN; by his son, Dusty Whiteford, of Rising Sun, IN; by 6 grandchildren: Katelynne and Dustin Whiteford, Arraya Cherry, Zander McCreary, Tristan and Chelsea Brown; and by 5 great grandchildren: Paisleigh, Weslynn, Dallas, Thomas and Jax. he was preceded by his parents, by his brothers, Raymond, David and Charles and by sisters, Theresa and Pammy.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, September 23rd at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Joseph Hart officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, September 23rd at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio County Animal Shelter.
