Violet Elizabeth (Walston) Randall

Violet Elizabeth (Walston) Randall, 85, of Greendale, IN, passed away on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital.  Violet was born in Rising Sun, IN on October 9, 1939, a daughter of the late Elisabeth (Cole) Walston and Selbert  W. Walston, Sr. Violet grew up in Ohio County and attended Cass-Union Grade School and Rising Sun High School. Violet married Russell Lee Randall on May 5. 1962. Violet took great pride in providing a loving home to her family. Violet and Russell were married nearly 59 years until his passing on April 18th, 2021. Violet was a faithful member of the Greendale First Baptist Church. Violet liked spending time reading and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed crocheting and baking pies for her family. Violet was a loving mom, grandma, nana, sister, aunt and friend to many. 

Violet is  survived by her two daughters, Yvonne Terrell, of Aurora, IN and Dawn Boyd, of Aurora, IN; by her son,Russell "Rusty" L. Randall II, of Greendale, IN;   by her grandchildren; Reid Terrell, Sarah Terrell (Tyrique Simpson),  Shyenne Randall (Eric Amrhein), Breanne Boyd (Alex Berry), Megan Mullalley (Blake), Ethan Randall (Kelsie Merse), Jessy Boyd, Kelsey Witko (Dominic), Timothy Boyd and by 12 great grandchildren. Violet is also survived by a brother, William "Wes" Walston, of Rising Sun, IN and by many nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Russell, by brothers, Selbert, Timmy, Kenny, Steve, & Joe Walston and by a sister, Melody Walston.
 
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2nd at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hedge Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
