William "Bill" Wilder

William “Bill” Wilder, 79, of Bennington, IN, passed away at 11:17 AM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Bill was born on December 22, 1942 in Cincinnati, OH. He attended school at the Switzerland County High School and went on to have a career as a truck driver and owner operator. On March 23, 1963, Bill was married to Mary (Wilson). They were married for over 59 years until his passing. Bill was a member of NRA and enjoyed target shooting. He also found great joy in spending time with his family, going for jeep rides, shopping, and talking politics.

Bill is survived by wife Mary Wilder of Bennington, IN; sons Dave Wilder (Nina) of Milan, IN and Mark Wilder (Jodi) of Bear Branch, IN; daughters Pam Cook (Allen) of Rising Sun, IN and Kathy Rook (Matt) of Vevay, IN; brothers Charles Spurlock (Vicky) of Vevay, IN, Jimmy Spurlock of Batesville, IN, Steve Spurlock of Lawrenceburg, IN, Ronnie Spurlock (Connie) of Rising Sun, IN, Rickie Spurlock (Connie) of Bennington, IN; sisters Cheryl Dausch (Ed) of Greendale, IN and Karen Miller (Steve) of Hidden Valley, IN, grandchildren Jacob, Justine, Rylie, Sheena, Apriel, Joshua, Aireal, Alex, and Tyler; 11 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Loretta (York) Spurlock and Joe Spurlock; father Willie Wilder; and sister-in-law Judy Spurlock.

A public visitation will be held Wednesday, August 17th, 11 AM – 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday, August 17th at 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home with burial to follow at New Liberty Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
